Silver, Gold resume high: BBA

Mumbai, May 9: Silver and gold advanced today in the opening session with silver rising by Rs 245 per kg and gold by Rs 100 per ten gm from their previous close on persistent stockists demand, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association (BBA) said.

In the international market, the precious metals gained today after the Euro rebounded from a two-month low against the dollar. Gold edged up to USD 882.10/883.10 an ounce from USD 881.40/882.60 an ounce late in New York yesterday while silver inched up to USD 16.87/16.63 an ounce from USD 16.85/16.91 an ounce, which reflected in the domestic market, traders said.

Following were the opening rates of spot silver and gold in the bullion market here today: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade: Rs 23,365 Gold (per 10 gm): 99.5 purity standard mint: Rs 11,850 99.9 purity pure gold: Rs 11,905
