NMCE launches new contracts in guar seed, turmeric
Ahmedabad, May 9 (UNI) The National Multi-Commodity Exchange (NMCE) has launched a new series for futures contract in guar seed and turmeric with effect from tomorrow.
The new series in guar Seed (10MT) and turmeric called September-2008 contracts, will expire on September 20, while the delivery period for each will begin three days prior to that on September 17, an NMCE release said here today.
The basis delivery centre for guar seed is at Deesa (Gujarat) and for turmeric is at Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) warehouse at Erode (Tamil Nadu), while the additional delivery centre is at Nizamabad (Andhra Pradesh).
At present, NMCE is running futures contracts in about 100 series in 24 commodities, notably pepper, cardamom, raw jute, copra, isabgol, menthol crystal, non-ferrous metals, castor seed, other oilseeds and their derivatives, the release added.
