Bangalore, May 9 (UNI) Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader C K Jaffer Sharief today clarified that he had not appealed to Muslims to vote only for candidates of their community in the Karnataka Assembly elections.
In a release here, he said, ''it has come to my notice that some mischievous elements have issued a pamphlet stating that I had appealed to the Muslim voters to vote only for Muslim candidates, which is false and far from truth.''
