Visakhapatanam, May 9: HCL Infosystems Limited today launched the new generation ultra portable ''MiLeapH'' and ''V'' series leaptops, weighing less than one kg. Launching the products here, Company Executive Vice-President George Paul said so far the HCL had no nearest competitor in the leaptop segment, which was affordable at an unbelievable price of Rs 16,990 for the ''H'' series and Rs 33,990 for the ''V'' series.
This was in tune of keeping its promise of being the first to introduce the latest technology in India at most affordable prices, he added. The ''MiLeap'' series was India's first fully functional and ultra mobile range of laptops offering true mobile internet computing experience launched in association with Microsoft. The new range of leaptops, which were launched in Delhi four months back, were sleek and light in weight.
Operating on Windows XP, the new ''MiLeap H'' series leaptops, weighing just 1.4 kg, had a seven inch TFT colour screen and all the advanced features. The product was available at Rs 17,000.
The new series were specially designed for the rugged Indian conditions and an environment of non-availability of air conditioning facilities. The ''MiLeap'' leaptops also offer a low energy footprint design, he added.
