Don't refrain from speaking in mother tongue: Raj Thackeray
Thane, May 9 (UNI) Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackery today advised the youths not to refrain from speaking in their mother tounge no matter whatever profession they are in or travel to any part of the world.
''Wherever you may be in the globe or whatever your career is, do not keep your mother tongue aside,'' he said after inaugurating the three-day 'Career Expo-2008' here.
''One should not be hesitant to do any job, nor should be choosy about it. Any job is a job,'' he said and asked the youths to first grab the available opportunity and later decide on the further course of action.
''If you do not grab the opportunity and get into the available jobs, it will give room for others to fill the slot, only to repent later,'' he warned.
He said Marathi was here to stay despite the globalisation and this will disprove the claims and doubts of others.
Citing the examples of Rabindranath Tagore and Satyajit Ray, Raj said they had proved to the world that mother tounge was supreme.
More than 290 different career options are dispalyed at the exhibition.
