Asian Paints net up by 19.2 pc at Rs 84.84 cr

New Delhi, May 9: Asian Paints today said its profit zoomed 19.2 per cent to Rs 84.84 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 71.16 crore in the same period last year. The company's total income witnessed 18.8 per cent hike to Rs 879.71 crore from Rs 740.26 crore for in the said period. It posted 37.9 per cent increase in its profit to Rs 375.20 crore for the year ended March 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 272.05 crore during the previous fiscal.

The total income too surged 21.5 per cent to Rs 3,478.74 crore from Rs 2,861.74 crore in the said period. The Group witnessed a hike of 41.9 per cent in its profit to Rs 94.52 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2008 where as the same was at Rs 66.61 crore for the corresponding quarter last fiscal. The total income too increased 17.8 per cent to Rs 1146.4 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2008 where as the same was at Rs 972.56 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2007.

The Group registered 45.6 per cent increase in its net profit to Rs 409.18 crore for the year ended March 31, 2008 where as the same was at Rs 281.03 crore for the year ended March 31, 2007.

The total income surged 20.4 per cent to Rs 4,466.28 crore for the year ended March 31, 2008 where as the same was at Rs 3,707.22 crore for the year ended March 31, 2007.
