Amritsar, May 9 (UNI) General V P Malik, former Chief of Army Staff inaugurated a 15 lakh litre Rain Water Harvesting (RWH) project at the premises of Amritsar Crown Caps Pvt Ltd (ACCPL), Coca-Cola's franchise bottling plant here today.
The project has been launched ahead of the monsoons to be able to capture adequate rain water during the coming monsoon, in keeping with Coca-Cola's commitment to environment preservation and protection, Managing Director, Amritsar Crown Caps Ltd, Gurdip Singh Kandhari said adding , ''our eventual goal was to be a net zero user of groundwater in the area.''.
Coca-Cola India already supports several RWH projects in the country and has commissioned 320 RWH structures in 17 states. The Company plans to install another 80 RWH projects in the country this year, which will take the total number of projects to 400. UNI XC JN MMS1818
