Trinamool gheraoes SP's office in East Midnapore
Tamluk, May 8 (UNI) The entire East Midnapore district administration went into a tizzy this evening when Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee entered the Superintendent of Police's office here on her way to Nandigram.
Immediately after entering the office of the SP, she started hurling allegations against the district administration in general and the SP in particular for ''terrorising'' her party supporters at Nandigram.
She alleged that police and the administration had been instrumental in driving away the Trinamool Congress workers from Garchakraberia, Sonachura, and other neighbouring villages for ensuring the victory of the CPI(M) candidates in the area.
Mr Sisir Adhikary, MLA, and her chief aide in East Midnapur district, also entered the SP's room and levelled allegations against SP S S Panda.
Large number of Trinamool Congress and BUPC supporters had laid a siege to the SP's office and were shouting anti-CPI(M) slogans.
Though the SP requested her to sit for a discussion, she refused to comply and said she will not leave the room come what may till normal condition returned at Nandigram.
'' I am the last person to leave this place and will keep standing till police stop terrorising my workers at Nandigram.
Hundreds of my workers and supporters have been driven out of their villages. Some of women voters have been raped and others stripped of and forced to join the CPI (M) processions. This cannot continue.
I want to see what they want finally, ''she said.
