Patna, May 8 : The youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal (United) staged a demonstration here on Wednesday, mocking the Central Government's attempts to check inflation in the country.
The Congress party, it said needed a mock bank to provide loans to the common man for buying essential commodities.
Pradip Dubey, state president of the youth wing of BJP, said the Central Government had failed to curb inflation and the common man was suffering on account of this.
"Poor people are dying because of hunger and are pleading for food as the prices of essential commodities have soared," said Rakesh Kumar Yadav, secretary of the students' wing JD (U).
India has about 260 million poor.
