Counting of votes, results to be telecast live
Mysore, May 8 (UNI) Deputy Commissioner and District Electoral Officer P Manivannan today said for the first time counting and results of the Karnataka Assembly polls would be telecast live on May 25.
Speaking to reporters here, he said counting of votes would be taken up in four places in the city and it would be telecast live by setting up giant screens in eleven taluks of Mysore district.
As soon as the results were announced they would be flashed on the screens for the benefit of people, he said.
Meanwhile, district officials seized Rs 1.2 lakh cash, sarees and other gift articles meant for distribution to voters.
Nearly 300 anti-social elements have been arrested. Some of them were given bail after they filed affidavits promising good behaviour during elections, he added.
