Srinagar, May 8: The Congress party in Jammu and Kashmir believes that coming general Assembly election would provide a historic opportunity for establishing lasting peace and tranquility in the State.
Addressing a public meeting in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, senior Congress leader and Minister for Health and Medical Education Mangat Ram Sharma underlined the importance of conducive atmosphere and political stability for accelerating developmental activities in the State and added that coming Assembly election would be an historic opportunity for establishing lasting peace and tranquility in the State.
The 2002 election were turning point in the history of Jammu and Kashmir while coming Assembly polls would be historic in the sense that it would open new vistas of development.
Without naming any one, Mr Sharma said that many political parties were trying to tempt the people by one or other slogan without having any respect for the national integration and the interest of common people.
He said that they are actually dream sellers trying to keep the people in make belief world to receive their support and get power.
He asked the people to remain vigilant and stay away from this type of exploitation politics.
