Chandigarh, May 8 (UNI) As many as 77 candidates of various parties, including former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal, have been left in fray in Indri, Gohana and Adampur assembly constituencies on the last day of withdrawal of nomination papers today.
Out of 77 candidates, 13 candidates are contesting from Indri, 23 candidates from Gohana and 43 from Adampur Assembly Constituency.
In the Adampur assembly constituency, Mr Bhajan Lal of the Haryana Janhit Congress(BL) is the most prominent among the 41 candidates left in fray. He is pitted against Mr Ranjit Singh of the Congress, Mr Sampat Singh of the INLD and Swami Raghwanand of the BJP.
In the Gohana assembly constituency after withdrawal of nomination papers, 23 candidates of different parties were left in election fray.
In the Indri Assembly Constituency, 13 candidates were left in the contest.
In all the three constituencies, 58 candidates are contesting as independent candidates. Adampur has the maximum number of Independents (34) followed by Gohana (17) and Indri (7).
