Bangalore, May 7: Congress General Secretary Vyalar Ravi today alleged that the BJP was collecting voter identity cards from section of people in the state.
Mr Ravi told reporters here that the Congress would write to the Election Commission to take serious note of BJP's alleged involvement in such ''malpractices.'' He charged the BJP with ''collecting the identity cards ahead of the polls to prevent the members of minority communities from casting their votes.'' ''This is a real threat to the democratic process of election and the EC should take criminal action against the BJP,'' he said.
Police arrested one party worker in connection with the illegal collection of voters ID cards from R T Nagar in the city a few days ago.
