Tension prevails following Juvenile prisoner's demise in TN
Coimbatore, May 7 (UNI) Tension prevailed at Papanaickan Palayam around 'Juvenile Home' today following the death of a 13-year-old Juvenile prisoner in a suspicious manner at the Coimbatore Medical College (CMC) hospital here last night..
Police said 56 juvenile prisoners, including 50 boys and six girls were housed in that juvenile home. There was a heated argument among them during the lunch time yesterday.
Prisoner Mobarak Ali(13), who was arrested some time back, when he was wandering at Gandhipuram area in a suspicious manner and was housed at Home. He was hailing from Punjavedampatti village near Pollachi in the district.
Last night, Mobarak became unconscious and was admitted at the CMC Hospital. The boy sustained injuries on his head and body. He succumbed to injuries today morning.
The District Collector Palanikumar had ordered an RDO enquiry and normalcy was restored this evening, police added.
