Sonia rules out coalition govt in K'taka
Tumkur, Karnataka, May 7 (UNI) Expressing confidence that the Congress will come back to power in Karnataka, AICC President Sonia Gandhi today categorically ruled out forming a coalition government in the state.
Addressing a public meeting here, she said, ''the Congress will not opt for coalition and compromise on its principles for power at any cost.'' Stating that non-Congress governments in Karnataka had never been successful, Ms Gandhi said only Congress could provide a stable government that would complete its full-term.
She said the coalition between JD(S) and BJP resulted in rampant corruption and exposed both the party hunger for power.
''We want to provide a responsible, transparent and responsive government, which will work in tandem with aspirations of the people,'' she added.
