Mumbai, May 7 (UNI) Chairman Emiretus of the London School of Economics Lord Meghnad Desai today said the national political parties should stop the division in the country on the lines of caste and language.
Speaking at a function here Mr Desai said the states should not be divided at any cost on the lines of caste and language as it would lead to division of the country like the 1947 Partition.
He made this observation when reporters asked him about the anti-North Indian stand taken by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray.
The division should be stopped with the national political parties taking the initiative, he added.
