Nagpur, May 7 (UNI) The heatwave, sweeping Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, further intensified with the mercury soaring to 43 degrees Celsius in Nagpur, making it the hottest place in the country today.
People in the city preferred to remain indoors during afternoon, to avoid the scorching heat.
In Jalgaon district, the maximum temperature continued to hover around the 40 degrees Celsius mark.
The maximum temperature in Jalgaon city and Bhusawal town was 40.5 degree Celsius and 40 degrees Celsius respectively, official sources said.
So far, four deaths due to sun-stroke have been reported from the district.
