London, May 7 : Emerging England all-rounder Ravi Bopara has reportedly turned down an offer to play in the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL).
The Sun quoted Bopara as saying that he had rejected the offer as he was more keen on cementing his place in the England Test and one-day squad.
Bopara is not centrally contracted to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), and therefore, was free to pursue a contract with one of the eight IPL franchises.
But he turned down a six-figure deal from an unnamed side in favour of remaining with the Division Two outfit of Derbyshire County cricket club.
Bopara said: "Of course when figures like these are put in front of you it is tempting but my goal is to play regularly for England.
