Bangalore, May 5 (UNI) Visibly pleased over his boys' consisting winning ways, King's XI Punjab Coach Tom Moody today said that his team was shaping up well and may emerge as a serious contender for the top spot in the inaugural DLF-Indian Premier League T20 tournament.
''My boys kept their fundamentals well today. I am happy that we have successfully overcome last week's (incident of Harbhajan slapping Sreesanth) incident. We actually faced lot of problems last week and it is all behind us now,'' he said during the post match press conference.
Moody said the team had chalked out a number of strategies but the team had to be good to execute that. '' It is working to our plans and Yuvi ringing frequent chances was part of it. It all depends on how well the captain executes the plans and lot of bowling changes was in tune with it,'' he said.
Sreesanth said he was very happy to bowl on M Chinnaswamy Stadium wicket because he had spent lot of his time in the city earlier. '' My today's performance had lot of hard work behind it.
I had no special strategy against the Dravid's men,'' he said.
A disappointed Dravid said the problem had been that the batting had not clicked.
Asked what really went wrong and the main cause of the failure he said, ''We have not played well as a batting unit. Loosing wickets at regular intervals has put us down,'' he said.
The former Indian skipper said the team had a 10-day tour and played three away matches on trot. ''Who knows what happens.
Of course we can't afford to make any more mistakes anymore,'' he said.
