Vodafone drops STD and roaming rates

{image-Vodafone1]_06052008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Chandigarh, May 6: Cutting current rates, Vodafone Essar today announced a new reduced tariff structure for STD and Roaming services for all customers across India.

In the new tariffs to be effective from today, the customers will now be able to make STD calls at Rs, 1.30 per min to any destination within India. Roaming rates have been reduced to Re one per minute for all incoming and local outgoing calls, while STD calls on roaming will be charged Rs. 1.50 per minute. However, the revised roaming rates will not be applicable on Airtel network.

Harit Nagpal, company Director-Marketing and New Business, said, ''Vodafone Essar now has operations in 16 circles covering 86 per cent of India's mobile customer base, with over 44.12 million customers.'' Vodafone, which has operations in 25 countries across five continents and 40 partner networks with over 252 million customers worldwide, has partnered with the Essar Group as its principal joint venture partner for the Indian market.
