Tiger finds a brutal end Karnataka
Madikeri, May 6 (UNI) Carcass of a well built tiger was found in a ditch in private coffee plantation in Kurachi Village in South Kodagu district today.
Police said it was suspected that the tiger might have been killed by poachers atleast four days ago. Two of the legs of the big cat had been removed.
The body of the animal had been sent for postmortem.
According the sources the tiger borne bullet injuries.
It is suspected that poachers might have killed the tiger and threw the body into the coffee plantation.
RFO Gajanana Bhat said the details would be known once postmortem was conducted.
It may be recalled that the forest department had captured a tiger and brought it to Mysore Zoo after it terrorised people in the area killing scores of cattle. After injuring itself badly it was now recovering well.
