Jammu, May 6: The Jammu and Kashmir unit of Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded that Speaker of the state Legislative Assembly Tara Chand and former Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed should be booked for their alleged involvement in the Srinagar sex scandal case.
The BJP state president Ashok Khajuria in a statement here said according to the Congress MP from Jammu-Poonch parliamentary constituency Madan Lal Sharma, both Mr Tara Chand and Peerzada were saved by UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on his request.
''The admission of Mr Madan Lal Sharma clearly indicates that he is also a party to the immoral act as he played a dubious role in the whole exercise. The BJP demands that both the JKPCC president and the speaker should be immediately booked and criminal proceedings against them be initiated forthwith,'' Mr Khajuria said.
He said Mr Sharma had admitted such things in his speech while addressing a public meeting. He also disclosed that Mr Peerzada and Tara Chand were involved in the infamous Srinagar sex scandal.
''These are not the only leaders who were involved in the sex scandal but there were several others names belonging both to the PDP and the Congress, as also to the People's Democratic Front, who were in the list,'' Mr Khajuria added.
