Sale of liquor banned for three days in 11 districts going to poll
Bangalore, May 6 (UNI) The sale and transport of liquor has been banned for four days from tomorrow midnight until May 10 in the eleven districts of Karnataka, which goes to polls in the first phase on May 10.
The Deputy Commissioners of the eleven districts in the Southern parts of the state today issued notifications to the effect warning that violators would be severely punished. If any bar or wine shop was found selling liquor the license will be immediately cancelled..
A strict instruction has also been given to all state government staff and officials for attending the election duty without fail.
Otherwise the employee would face action including the arrest.
The state government has declared holiday for schools and colleges in the districts on the days of polling on May 10, 16 and 22.
