In a statement here, Dr Vyas said,''We are trying for it and we want the Bill to be passed. I am happy that it is cleared and introduced in the Rajya Sabha. Now the Bill, which has been gathering dust for 12 years, will not lapse.'' ''Women have waited for a long time for political space and now the time has come for the political parties to give them their rightful place in Parliament and state Legislatures,''Dr Vyas said and thanked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and NGOs and women groups for the coordination.
