Mumbai, May 6 (UNI) The export of oilmeals for the month of April 2008 was pegged at 6,37,500 tonnes, an increase of 2,01,529 tonnes from the figures of the corresponding period in April 2007.
In the last fiscal, 4,35,971 tonnes of oilmeals was exported, according to the data compiled by the Solvent Extractors Association of India.
Vietnam has shown quantum jump in its import of oilmeals from India at 2,04,825 tonnes. This consists of 1,75,050 tonnes of soyabean meal, 4,550 tonnes of rapeseed meal and entire 25,225 tonnes of ricebran extraction.
Among the other top importers are South Korea with import of 1,01,175 tonnes consisting of 63,000 tonnes of soyabean meal, 31,200 tonnes of rapeseed meal and 6,975 tonnes of castorseed meal during April 2008, the data revealed.
