DGP not satisfied with law and order situation in Allahabad zone

Allahabad, May 5 (UNI) In a work review of police department in Allahabad zone, DGP of Uttar Pradesh, Vikram Singh has shown his concern over the law and order situation in the zone.

In a joint press conference here with Home Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, Kunwar Fateh Bahadur Singh, the DGP said there was a need of making some new rules and parameters for the functioning of the police. He cautioned the police administration saying that failure of it would not to be tolerated.

All the police officers would now strictly follow the meeting time to people from 1000 hrs to 1200 hrs and they must be there to hear the problems of the citizens, he said. He also appealed to all the IGs and DIGs to submit reports about activities of the day to him.

He emphasised the issue related to the SC/ST Act and said that cases related with it must be registered within 30 days.

''I am not satisfied with the law and order condition in Allahabad zone because it can be improved, '' he said answering to a question .
