Ranchi, May 6 (UNI) The high-level inquiry committee, constituted by the Jharkhand government to inquire into the Ranchi University (RU) question paper scandal regarding a question about the Prophet Mohammed, has asked the university authorities to submit a detailed report.
Official sources said here today the committee, comprising of Principal Secretary of the Governor Amit Khare, Former Pro Vice-Chancellor of RU M K Hasan and Central Insitute of Psychiatry Director S Haque Nizami held its second meeting last evening.
The committee asked the university authorities to submit the report on all the 24-points, including arrangement of examination observers, selection of questions and examination system, by May 8.
The controversy emerged when a History question paper, set for the second year post graduation examination held on April 30, allegedly asked about the career of the Prophet Mohammed.
On May 1, Chief Minister Madhu Koda summoned RU Vice-Chancellor A A Khan and directed him to look into matter.
Mr Koda said he would talk to the university authorities and urge them to initiate action against the question paper setters.
Various Muslim organisations had also condemned the incident and demanded immediate action against the culprit.
