Candidate held for hurting religious sentiments
Koppal, Karnataka, May 6 (UNI) A candidate of the Sarvodaya Party was arrested on charges of distributing pamphlets which hurt religious sentiments of a community.
Following a complaint, the town police arrested A M Veeerasangaiah, a farmer leader contesting from Koppal Assembly constituency, and seized the pamphlets which depicted a naked man being caught by a group of people for allegedly committing an offence, according to an official here.
The election officials acted immediately and directed the police to take action against the candidate, he added.
