TES-11 Gentlemen Cadets passing out parade held
Hyderabad, May 5 (UNI) Thirty-two Gentlemen Cadets of the Technical Entry Scheme Course Serial (TES-11) today participated in the passing out parade along with other Gentlemen Cadets of the junior TES courses at the Cadets Training Wing of the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) here.
MCEME Commandant and Senior Colonel Commandant Lt General KS Venugopal, who was the Chief Guest, gave away the awards to the Gentleman Cadets of the TES-11 course, a Defence press release here said.
Commandant's Gold Medal was awarded to Wing Cadet Quarter Master (WCQM) Prarit Kapoor for standing first in the overall order of merit of the course while Commandant's Silver Medal was awarded to Wing Cadet Captain (WCC) Dennis for standing second in the overall order of merit of the course.
Rajput Regt Gold Medal was awarded to Wing Cadet Adjutant (WCA) Sandeep Kumar for excelling in all the outdoor training activities of the course while Commandant's Silver Medal for 'Best Sportsman' was awarded to Gentlemen Cadet (GC) Mane Swapnil Satish.
Commandant's Banner for the 'Champion Platoon' was awarded to SHIVAJI Platoon.
These Gentleman Cadets will get commissioned as officers from Indian Military Academy, Dehradun on June seven, 2008 and thereafter will get back into the folds of MCEME, for one year, for their post commission training.
In his address, Lt General KS Venugopal stressed on the importance of character building for the young men who will be the future leaders of tomorrow.
He also highlighted the need of moulding and training officers and Gentleman Cadets to imbibe the tradition of valour and sacrifice and yet become technically proficient to face the challenges of the 21st century.
