London, May 5 : Durham and England fast bowler Steve Harmison has said that he will think of quitting all forms of cricket if he is not selected for the home series against New Zealand.

Dropped from the national squad following a lacklustre showing in the first Test against New Zealand last winter, Harmison is reported to be trying hard to win back his spot, but says he may think about quitting if he does not make the grade.

"The prospect of playing for England is what drives me, and if I felt my chance of doing that was gone, the probability is I'd retire from first-class cricket altogether. This is not an ultimatum or me trying to impose conditions on anyone. But I am 29 now, and if I felt my England career was over, I would be tempted to say I want to do something different with my life," The Sun quoted Harmison, as saying.

"I am absolutely determined to show I have something to offer England. I certainly do not believe I am finished," he added.

"My aim is to bowl fast, take wickets and give the selectors something to think about," said the bowler, who has taken 221 Test wickets.

England square up against New Zealand in a three-Test series starting at Lord's on May 15.
