Mumbai, May 5: Both the precious metals resumed high today in the opening session with silver rising by Rs 245 per kg and gold by Rs 55 per ten gm from their last close on brisk buying support from ornament makers and strong global advice, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association (BBA) said.
In the international market also the precious metals soared as the dollar jumped on better-than-expected US jobs data. Its impact was felt on the domestic market. Gold rose to USD 861.10/864.10 an ounce from USD 855.80/857.00 an ounce late in New York on Friday, and silver edged up to USD 16.54/16.59 an ounce from USD 16.32/15.38 an ounce, a Singapore market report said.
