Mumbai, May 5 (UNI) Noted actor Mithun Chakraborty, who bagged the National award for best actor in his first film 'Mrigaya' in 1976, is eagerly awaiting the release of his son Mimoh's debut movie 'Jimmy' and hopes he will make a name for himself in Bollywood.
An emotional 'Mithunda', as he is reverently called in film circles, said he was amazed with Mimoh's dancing abilities and was upbeat about the success of the film, directed by veteran director Raj N Sippy, due for release this Friday.
Mithun told UNI that it has not been a very auspicious year for Bollywood as 'Race' was the only money-spinner in the first quarter of 2008. But there are several big-budget films lined up for release in the latter part of the year and these will swing the fortunes of Bollywood, he opined.
The actor, who has enacted all types of roles in his over three decades association with filmdom, had heralded a new dancing trend with his 1983 movie 'Disco Dancer', which was a big box-office success.
'I feel Mimoh will prove to a bigger and more successful dancer after the release of 'Jimmy', says the proud father as he awaits the release of the film.
The veteran actor is also obsessed with his latest movie 'Don Muthuswamy' in which he portrays the role of a reformed don. The movie is slated for release later this month.
