Patna, May 5 (UNI)Former test cricketer and sports analyst Kirti Azad today hailed the decision of supension of the Indian Hockey Federation and demanded the Centre dissolve the inactive and non functional associations of other games.
While talking to UNI,Mr Azad asked the Centre to constitute an ad-hoc committee for selection of the players. He said the sports and games would attain a new height once the 'inert' associations related to sports and games were dissolved and new ad hoc committees constituted. He opined that the players would make new records as they would get better opportunity for showing their talent.
Mr Azad alleged that on the pattern of Hockey, gymnastics, boxing, wrestling, swimming and others were also in the grip of those who had nothing to do with the games. Keeping this in mind, he demanded a total review of the functionings of the associations and federations of all sports and games.
Charging the BCCI with discriminating against players of Bihar, he said the sporterpersons of the state were being ignored.He said the players of Bihar were deprived of the opportunity to display their talent for want of recognition by the Cricket Association of Bihar.
