Nashik, May 5: Four leopard cubs were found in a field at Nanegaon village of the taluka here.
The cubs were found in a field yesterday by labourers. The land owner who later informed the forest department officials.
The officials kept the cubs in the field with sufficient protection and out of human reach. This precaution was taken considering a recent incident when a leopard female had eaten her own cubs. These four cubs are one or two days old.
Meanwhile, three more new born animals were found in the field of one Damu Borade in Dadhegaon village near the city. According to the local residents, they were leopard cubs, whereas the forest officials said they were not leopard cubs but kittens of a wild cat.
