Jind, May 5 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said that Swami Ram Dev had launched a movement in the form of Yoga not only in the country but also abroad.
''He has shown a way to the people to have good health through Yoga,'' Mr Hooda expressed these views in a message which he had sent on the concluding day of two-day Gyan Yog Shiver and Sanatak Sammelan organised by Swami Ram Dev at Kalwa village 25 km from here today.
The Chief Minister, who was scheduled to attend the Sammelan, could not come to attend the function due to bad weather at Chandigarh in the morning. Therefore, he sent his message for this occasion.
Mr Hooda said by adopting Yoga in life, one could become healthy and able to serve the humanity. He said Swami Ram Dev had been endeavouring to infuse moral values among the people and he had changed the concept of Yoga. Earlier it was considered that Yoga only belonged to Yogis but Swami Ram Dev had taught the people that Yoga could be performed even while performing the duties of the household.
Speaking on the occasion, Swami Ram Dev said Yoga was essential to maintain good health and Yoga was still relevant and it would remain so in future also.
He said in the modern age a number of challenges of life could be met by adopting Yoga. He exhorted the people to rise above parochial differences of caste and creed and work for the welfare of humanity.
