Girl hangs self, pleads mercy for lover

Lucknow, May 5 (UNI) A girl student committed suicide over her failed love affair in Gomti Nagar area here today.

This is the eigth suicide by a student in the last one and a half months in the Uttar Pradesh capital.

Bhumika Gaur, student of Amity College and resident of Farrukhabad, hanged self from the ceiling of her house.

The girl left a suicide note, in which she mentioned that she was taking the extreme step due to her paramour Prashant, who was pursuing his studies from Lucknow University.

Surprisingly, Bhumika pleaded mercy for Prashant, asking no investigation should be carried against him.

Most of the suicide cases reported recently were over failure in examination.
