Dalit's wedding procession obstructed
Mandsaur, MP, May 5 (UNI) A dalit family was not allowed to take out marriage procession and the bridegroom was forced to get down of horse by influential people in Sheragadpawdi village in this district, police said today.
Family members somehow managed to complete rituals on May 3 and lodged a police complaint against some people yesterday.
A case was registered by police against eight people but no arrest had been made so far.
A marriage procession had arrived from Mundkafauji village for the wedding of Pappu Charmkar's sister. Some people disrupted the wedding procession while it was passing on and forced the bridegroom to get down from his horse.
Bride's father Rameshwar Charmkar alleged that some members of the wedding procession were beaten.
