Nashik, May 5: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has filed a case against an employee of a Public Works Department (PWD) of Konkan Bhavan, for accumulating disproportionate assets.

ACB lodged a complaint with Sarkarwada police yesterday against Mumbai's Konkan Bhavan Superintendent Engineer Sanjay Patil for accumulating assets worth Rs 1,45,24,040 during the period of 1984 to 2005, more than his known sources of income. Names of Patil's wife Vanita, Chandrakant Yeola, officer of the Corporation Bank here and one more officer of the bank have been mentioned in the complaint. These people allegedly helped Patil to open bogus accounts in banks and transactions from bank accounts.

Patil bought properties at Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon, Pune, Dharangaon and Banglore during this period. Patil had been working with the PWD here, Dhule and Ahmednagar.

Investigations in the case were on since 2005. Yeola has been taken into custody here and Patil was arrested by Banglore police.

Patil has Rs 38 lakh in his account in the bank at present and the ACB has instructed the bank to freeze the account.
