BEST's King Long buses are trying hard to pick-up

Mumbai, May 5 (UNI) Air-conditioned King Long bus services, which had recently kicked-off with much fanfare by Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST), is finding difficult to recover its costs.

The buses with 19 fleet per day runs on two routes, both in morning and evening.

BEST committee member Mohsin Haider of Samajwadi party said that since it is a new service, it will take time to pick-up. It will definitely do well because the citizens here need change of travel mode. ''At first look, the buses do not look like BEST buses which makes the commuters feel awkward but it will pick-up,'' he said.

Meanwhile, the buses have gone well with the commuters who are experiencing good service and comfortable travel with the air-conditioner inside.

BEST Public Relation Officer P Jagirdar said that the buses are doing well, its revenue is picking up and will do well in the coming days. ''Public response has been good and we are expecting more people to travel by these buses,'' Mr Jagirdar said.

One of King Long buses had caught fire due to short circuit last month, but the incident had not affected the service, according to BEST officials.
