UP await respite from heat, toll climbs to 14
Lucknow, May 4 (UNI) Even as the weatherman has forecast duststorm/thundershowers for the next 24 hours in Uttar Pradesh, three overnight deaths reported from the state has taken the toll to 14 due to heat so far.
Reports from Bareilly and Agra and Mahoba confirm the fresh casualties.
According to meteorological department, temperature was recorded several notches above normal in Kanpur, Lucknow, Allahabad, Bareilly, Agra and Meerut divisions.
Agra stood the hottest at 44.8 degrees Celsius, which was two degrees more than normal.
Varanasi recorded 44.4 degrees, followed by Allahabad 44, Kanpur 43.8, Lucknow 43.6, Jhansi 43.3 that varied one to three degrees above normal.
Even in Agra, a remarkable dip was spotted in the tourists coming to the place.
