Revarkar on voyage to make India pollution free
Varanasi, May 4 (UNI) Dhiraj Gurunath Revarkar, who began his journey on a bicycle from Belgaon in Karanataka over the alarming pollution rise in India, reached the holy city today.
This is Revarkar's seventh journey from his native village to Nepal's capital Kathmandu. He had been working in this unique way to apprise people about the alarming pollution situation in the country over a decade.
Promoting his slogan ''Cycle chalao pradushan mitao, cycle chalao tandarusti pao,'' (drive bicycle and eradicate pollution, besides having good health) the youth had travelled about 11,000 kilometres.
'' When I left home first time my parents were little jittery about my voyage, but now they are happy with my noble cause,'' Revarkar said.
Now, when I leave home my family gives best wishes for my journey, he added.
The locals of the city extended financial help of Rs 11,000 to the youth for the noble cause.
