Raja declared proclalimed absconder
Bhubaneswar, May 4 (UNI) A local court has declared Sandeep Acharya alias Raja, the prime accused in judo coach Biranchi Das's murder case, as an absconder.
The court of the local Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate also issued a non-bailable warrant against him yesterday.
The court's order came while adjudicating a petition filed by the investigating officer of the case.
Raja has been on the run since April 13, the day Biranchi Das, the former coach of marathon kid Budhia, was murdered.
Police Commssioner B K Behera said his property would be attached if he did not surrender within 10-15 days.
Chagala, a co-accused in the murder case, surrendered before the police at Bhopal on April 22.
Meanwhile, police raided many hideouts in the state and outside to nab Raja but failed to trace him.
The investigating officials said the murder was a complicated case. Police were probing many angles, including the love angle involving a model, railway scrap deal and the Budhia trust money.
Police hoped to solve the mystery behind the murder after Raja's arrest.
Meanwhile, a number of people were interrogated in connection with the case.
