Kolhapur, May 4: Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today said he would continue on the post as long as Congress President Sonia Gandhi reposed confidence in him.
Mr Deshmukh was speaking at a function organised here to mark the birth centenary of founder and editor of daily ''Pudhari'', late Dr G G Jadhav. The function was presided over by State Assembly speaker Babasaheb Kupekar. It may be recalled that recently, Revenue Minister Narayan Rane had raised questions regarding the stability and leadership of the state government.

Journalism should guide the younger generation to decide between good and bad, he said.
The Chief Minister also announced one acre land for the G G Jadhav Memorial Bhavan and cultural centre in the district and assured that state government will accord permission to the Shivaji University to set up a ''G G Jadhav Chair''.
BJP General Secretary Gopinath Munde also lauded Mr Jadhav's work during freedom struggle.
Maharashtra Finance Minister Jayant Patil, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sunil Tatkare, Kolhapur district Guardian Minister Harshwardhan Patil, Mayor Sai Kharade and Shivaji University Vice-Chancellor Manikrao Salunke were also present during the function.
