New Delhi, May 4 (UNI) Delhi Health Minister Yoganand Shastri today inaugurated a breast Cancer awareness and detection camp in the city.
The 317th camp, organised by 'Roko Cancer', an initiative to take breast cancer awareness and detection facilities to the masses, had successfully catered the semi-urban and urban women in and around Krishna Nagar, Humayunpur and Safdarjung region of Delhi.
The camp witnessed the presence of Congress MLA Kiran Walia and Chairperson, Delhi Commission for Women Abha Chowdhary. The camp was also graced by the presence of Mr Jeremy Hughes, CEO, Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research, which is UK's largest cancer research institute and also the research support partner of Roko Cancer.
The day long camp included self-examination seminars, physical examination and consultation by leading physicians. Free cancer awareness sessions and on the spot mammograms were also conducted at the camp and the reports were given immediately.
