Madurai, May 4 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Crime Branch CID police today seized four low-intensity country-made bombs and a small quantity of chemicals, including red phosphorous, from an illegal bomb-making unit at a farm house near Avaniyapuram allegedly owned by a PMK leader, for the second time.
Police sources said based on an information from an anonymous caller that bombs and some chemicals were concealed in the farm house, a police team raided the place and seized the same.
The farm house was allegedly owned by former PMK state Deputy General Secretary M Ilanchezian, police said.
It may be recalled that the police raided the farm house on January 19 last and seized chemicals including red phosphorus, sulphur and potassium chlorate after they received similar anonymous call about a bomb blast that took place in the farm. Ilanchezian was among the five, who were booked by the police in this connection.
Ilanchezian surrendered before the Judicial Magistrate Court here on January 31 and was given conditional bail.
