Centre's economic policy responsible for price rise:Yetchury
Samastipur, May 04 (UNI) Senior CPM leader and Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yetchury today accused the UPA government of encouraging forward trading of food grains, which was responsible for steep escalation of its prices.
Addressing a seminar on Centre's economic policy and role of the Left parties, Mr Yetchury said the condition of the opressed section was worsening.
The Centre's policy was against the interest of common people and it was the reason behind the confrontation of the Left parties with the UPA, he added.
The CPM leader said the Left parties would continue to build up the pressure on the Centre to work for uplift of the weaker section of the society.
Providing employment, better education facilities and improving agricultural infrastructure were among the priorities areas of the party, he added.
