Biniwale, Bodas get top billing in district-ranking TT meet

Pune, May 4 (UNI) Martand Biniwale and Ashlesha Bodas were given top billings in the mens and womens sections respectively in the district ranking table tennis tournament, hosted by the Deccan Gymkhana Club, which gets underway here from tomorrow.

Organising secretary V P Uday Bhalchandra, while announcing the seedings here today, said that the meet has received 390 entries.

Besides men and women sections, the tournament will also hold competitions for youth boys and girls, junior boys and girls, sub junior boys and girls, cadet boys and Girls, and veterans.

Following are the seedings: Mens Singles (60 entries): Martand Biniwale - 1, Tanmay Shinde - 2, Deepak Kadam - 3, Atul Bapat - 4, Madhukar Lonare - 5, Cyrus Jokhi - 6, Arun Gokhale - 7, Kaushal Kulkarni - 8.

Womens' Singles (20 entries): Ashlesha Bodas - 1, Deepti Chaphekar - 2, Sushani Bakre - 3, Sayali Deshpande - 4.

Under-20 Youth Boys Singles (56 entries): Martand Biniwale - 1, Kaushal Kulkarni - 2, Arjun Gokhale - 3, Ankit Gulwani - 4.

Under-20 Youth Girls Singles (20 entries): Ashlesha Bodas - 1, Deepti Chaphekar - 2, Sayali Deshpande - 3, Prachi Ghumatkar - 4.
