Advani meets RSS chief Sudershan

Nagpur, May 4: Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L K Advani called on Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief K S Sudershan here today.

Mr Advani spent around two hours with Mr Sudershan and ''Sarakaryawaha'' Mohan Bhagwat at the organisation's headquarters in Mahal area here this morning, an RSS spokesman told UNI. The BJP leader also had lunch with the ''Sarsanghachalak'' and Mr Bhagwat, the spokesman said. Describing the meeting as ''routine'', the spokesman said Mr Advani met Mr Sudershan since both of them happened to be in the city at the same time. ''Mr Advani called up the Sarsanghachalak last night and sought a meeting. Mr Sudershan invited him over for an early lunch,'' the spokesman added. Details of what transpired at the meeting were not available.

Later, Mr Advani visited the residence of RSS functionary Vilas Fadnavis, who is recuperating from a heart attack, a BJP spokesman told UNI. The former deputy prime minister later left for Ahmedabad by special aircraft, he added.

Mr Advani had camped in the city last night after returning from Sakoli in adjoining Bhandara district, where he addressed a huge rally of paddy growers.
