Gaya, May 4 (UNI) Altogether 64 NDA workers today resigned on grounds that ''they were being ignored by the party and were victims of police atrocities as well.'' Gaya JD(U) General Secretary Santosh Kumar said here that 64 workers of the JD(U) and BJP resigned en masse after their continued ignorance by the party.
''The workers were from Bankebazar, Imamganj and Dumri block of the district,'' he said adding that they were allegedly being harassed by the police, branding them as 'naxalites','' he said.
''Few days back, eight workers of the party were detained by the police and was allegedly tortured for being ''naxalites'','' Mr Kumar added.
