New Delhi, Apr 23 (UNI) Twenty-three mediapersons, including Avishek Duttidar of the Hindustan Times, Manoj CG of the Press Trust of India, Mitali Mohanty Ghosh of the United News of India and Satyakam Abhishek of Varta were today conferred the 32nd Matri Shree awards for journalism.
Among the other awardees, Ms Kanak from Bhasha, Mr Prashant Soni from the Nav Bharat Times, Shashi Kant from Hindustan and Shobhan Singh from Punjab Kesri received the awards.
The Shahrukh Khan starrer Chak De was given the award for the Best Film award.
The awards were given away by India TV managing editor Rajat Sharma and Sat Soni, Editor, Sandhya Time at a function at the Russian Cultural Centre here.
Arshad Faridi from Dainik Jagran, Priya Ranjan from Jansatta, Ratnesh Misra from Rashtriya Sahara, Arvind Singh from Amar Ujala, Rajnikant Vashishta from Navbharat, Bhopal and Ajay Kumar of State Times published from J and K, Sudesh Verma from India News TV, Nirmal Dinkar from Doordarshan, Bhim Prakash Sharma from AIR, Rajesh Mishra from Shakti channel and Ashwini Tripathy from MH 1 news were also honoured with the award.
Among the cameramen, Suman Kansara from TV Today network, Naresh Sharma from Metro Now and PTI photographer Manvendra Vashist recieved the award.
Mr Yogesh Chhabra was given the award for social service and Vinay Kansal for spreading public awareness on environment issues.
The awards comprised a Bharat Mata shield, a pen and a certificate.
Mr Rajat Sharma and Mr Dinesh Sharma, Convenor of the Matri shree awards committee spoke on the travails the mediapersons have to face during the course of their work and emphasised on the need for them to remain honest and impartial.
